What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold by Viator and GetYourGuide. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way; the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.

What we are not

We are not a tour operator. We do not run any of these tours, employ any of these guides or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

We have no connection with any champagne house or grower, the Comité Champagne, the tourist offices of Reims and Épernay, Reims Cathedral, or any of the places these tours stop at.

How tours get listed

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. The platforms' own badges are not shown. A badge on a card is ours and is measured: Top rated means 4.9 or higher, Best seller the most reviews, Best value the lowest fare. My Winedays and Go Go Tours sell the same day on both platforms, and both listings appear, because each is separately bookable and priced.

The Seine champagne cruises are listed because they are sold as champagne tours in Paris, but they do not go to the Champagne region. They are labelled that way wherever they appear, and they never set the lowest price we quote for a day in Champagne.

The featured tours at the top of the homepage are three different ways to do it — a big house and family growers with lunch from your Paris hotel, the two most famous houses on a private day, and a short growers' afternoon from Reims station — each for a different kind of traveller.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were taken from their own listings on 18 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Everything is quoted in US dollars because that is the currency the listings were captured in; nothing is converted at an exchange rate. Most fares are priced per person. The private Seine boat and one private car are priced per group, and their cards say so.

Where we state a fact about the region, it comes from the Comité Champagne (champagne.fr). Each house's visit price and opening days come from that house's own website, the cathedral's hours from the cathedral's own sites, and the train and tourist-office details from the Reims and Épernay tourist offices. The UNESCO listing was read from a dated copy of the UNESCO page held by the Internet Archive, because the live page did not answer. Where a detail comes from an operator's listing, such as a meeting point, a group size or a stop, it belongs to that tour.

What we deliberately do not publish

• A train time from Paris to Épernay. We print only the Reims tourist office's 45 minutes to Reims by TGV. Timetables change; check the rail operator for your date.
• When the 2026 harvest ended. The Comité Champagne publishes the date picking may open in each village, which we print, but not the date it finishes.
• Sunshine and wind figures. The monthly weather on our when-to-visit page is Météo-France's 1991–2020 normals for its Mailly-Champagne vineyard station, which publishes temperature, rain and frost but no sunshine or wind.
• The 2026 dates of the Reims Christmas market, until the Reims tourist office publishes them.
• Taittinger's visit price, which its site shows only inside its booking tool, and the opening hours of the Épernay tourist office and the church at Hautvillers, until they are confirmed from their own pages.
• The tasting and lunch prices some listings print. We print only the figures the houses publish themselves.
• A drink-driving limit. If you plan to drive, check the French rules yourself, and let someone who is not tasting take the wheel.
