Many shared days promise "a famous house" and leave the choice to the operator.
If you want a particular name, you need a day that names it, or a
private champagne tour from paris where you set the route. Here is each house the tours visit,
what it charges if you book it yourself, and which days include it.

House, grower or cooperative: three kinds of producer
Champagne has 410 houses, 16,460 growers and 120 cooperatives, by the Comité Champagne's 2025
figures. The houses shipped 191.9 million of the 266.1 million bottles sold in 2025; the
cooperatives and growers shipped the other 74.2 million.
A house visit is a guided walk through its cellars that ends in a tasting. A grower visit is
at a family-run estate, where the people pouring grew the grapes. The small code on every label
tells you which kind made the bottle.

Growers, and the tours that only visit growers
A récoltant-manipulant makes champagne from their own vines only, so the tasting is the
estate's own wine. The growers' days start in Reims, and they skip the big houses on purpose.
The Sparkling Tour days say so in their exclusions: no Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot or
Ruinart.
The Reims afternoon: two family wineries and six glasses, 2:00 to 6:30 pm
from the station, with 15 minutes at the abbey church in Hautvillers.
The France Intense day: three family wineries, one of them Champagne
Roger-Constant Lemaire, with lunch.
The Sparkling Tour small group: three family estates outside Reims, nine

Can you choose which champagne house you visit on a tour?
On most shared days, no. The fare promises a famous house, and the operator picks it, subject to availability. To choose, book a private day that names the house or leaves the choice to you.
Can you visit champagne houses without a tour?
Yes. Each house sells its own visits, from €20 at Nicolas Feuillatte to €90 at Ruinart. Taittinger shows its prices on its booking page.
What does RM mean on a champagne label?
Récoltant-manipulant: a grower who makes champagne under their own label from their own vineyards only. NM on the label means a house that also buys in grapes or wine.
Are the champagne houses open in winter?
Some are. Moët & Chandon lists daily hours with no closure. Veuve Clicquot closes for part of each winter, from 28 December 2025 to 7 April 2026 last time.
What is different about visiting a grower?
You meet the family that grows the grapes and makes the wine, at their own estate. The growers' days from Reims pour 6 to 10 champagnes across two or three estates.
